After all the canceled premieres in continental Europe and Japan, you’d expect the star of The Dark Knight Rises to just take a break from the drama surrounding the shootings in Colorado, and just release a statement and be done with it. But no, this is Christian Bale – The man never does anything by half measures. He flew over to Aurora, Colorado to visit the victims, in an unprompted capacity – Warner Bros. say they knew nothing of the trip and that Bale went on his own accord.
If it wasn’t for victims posting photos online, of the star’s visit, we would not have even known about it. So kudos to Christian Bale, you sir are one awesome guy. Maybe Bale shares more with his Dark Knight persona than we thought.
Bale’s statement on Friday:
Words cannot express the horror that I feel, I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.
